Dear Marianne,
I am writing today to thank you for your 35 years of service to IBM. As you can appreciate, I usually do not get the opportunity to write to most IBMers on their retirement day. However, you are a special exception.
One of your colleagues wrote to me a few weeks back with their request. He described you as “one of the most colorful, inspirational and motivational woman IBM Netherlands ever had… Marianne is one of a kind because she speaks IBM, she breaths IBM, she is IBM.”
Clearly, you have made an indelible mark on your colleagues and on the company. For this I am grateful. As you embark on your retirement, I want to thank you for your leadership, for your dedication and for exemplifying the best of IBM. Though you may be retiring, you will always be an esteemed member of the IBM family.
I wish you the best and hope that this new chapter of your life will be filled with health, happiness and all good things.
Sincerely,
Sam Palmisano
